Pantomime has been part of our country’s festive rhythm for
generations, bringing families together with music, comedy and
spectacle that feel uniquely British. It remains one of the most joyful
ways to experience live theatre.
Ten years ago I set out on a journey to bring pantomime back to the
heart of the West End. A decade on, what began as an ambitious revival
has grown into a landmark of the Christmas season. Over a million
people have joined us for The London Palladium Pantomime in what
The Times has recently called ‘A West End Institution’. This year our
festive offering is bigger than ever, with Sleeping Beauty starring
Catherine Tate, Palladium pantomime royalty Julian Clary and
impressionist Jon Culshaw, along with the return of Palladium panto
favourites Paul Zerdin, Nigel Havers and Rob Madge and West End
stars Emily Lane and Amonik Melaco.

Welcome to London
Across the West End and London, I am fortunate to be involved with
a number of other productions. This Christmas, I would personally
recommend Titanique, which continues to delight audiences at
The Criterion Theatre, featuring the music of Céline Dion, and
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express which is now in its second
year at our custom-built auditorium at Troubadour Wembley Park
Theatre, just two stops from Baker Street.

Whether I am in rehearsal rooms, or enjoying the range of theatre on
offer across the capital, I am constantly reminded that London’s greatest
strength is its ability to surprise, delight and move people.
I hope your time in this remarkable city offers all of that and more.
