What can fans expect from your
performance at the Barbican next
year that will make it different from
your previous performances?
I’m definitely going to bring in some
new elements and ideas. My concert
concept is always evolving – it never
stays exactly the same. From one
performance to the next, it changes a
little bit and develops naturally. So, the
Barbican concert will have its own
character again.

LEVI.SCT TO PERFORM AT
THE BARBICAN IN 2027
LEVI.SCT, the stage name of German
pianist Levi Schechtmann (b.1999),
is redefining the classical music
landscape. Blending the emotional
depth of composers like Chopin and
Rachmaninov with the energy of
hip-hop, house, and electronic music,
LEVI.SCT creates performances that are
at once virtuosic, cinematic, and
electrifying. With over 1.7 million
Instagram followers, he has captured the
attention of audiences worldwide,
making classical music accessible and
thrilling for a new generation.
Named Contemporary Pianist of the
Year at the 2025 Pianote Awards,
LEVI.SCT has performed at iconic
venues including Hamburg’s
Elbphilharmonie, Brussels’ Flagey, and
sold-out shows in Paris and London.
His second studio album, Classified
Fusion, pushes boundaries further,
fusing classical, jazz, salsa, and
electronic beats into a fearless, genredefying journey. As momentum builds
with upcoming international dates,
LEVI.SCT continues to challenge
expectations, proving that classical
music can be both timeless and
thrillingly modern.
This is London spoke to LEVI.SCT
about his concert at the Barbican.
Are there any new tracks or
surprises you plan to debut?
Yes, there will definitely be a few
surprises. I’m already working on my
new album, so some of the ideas and
pieces I’m developing right now might
appear in the programme.
How do you prepare for a
performance in a city as iconic and
diverse as London?
I really like London as a city. You can
feel the creativity there, and it gives me
a sense of freedom. I feel very open to
just follow my creative instincts when
I’m there.
Can you share any details about
your new album? What can we
expect?
The new album is more personal.
It’s not only based on classical themes
anymore, but also goes more into my
own direction – with original
compositions and a more individual
sound.
LEVI.SCT will perform at the Barbican
on 2 February, 2027. The Barbican
Centre is a renowned cultural hub in
London, featuring theatre, classical and
contemporary music, film screenings,
and art exhibitions, famous for its
distinctive brutalist architecture and
innovative, diverse arts and cultural
programs.

RUN THE YARDS: COVENT GARDEN
CELEBRATES MARATHON SEASON
As marathon fever returns to London
this spring, The Yards Covent Garden is
marking the moment with Run The
Yards, a week-long celebration of the
capital’s running culture from 23 April to
1 May. Timed to coincide with the
London Marathon, the campaign brings
together shopping, dining and wellness
experiences designed to reward runners
and energise spectators in the heart of
the West End.
At the centre of the programme is
Marathon Mindset – The Inner Journey,
an intimate conversation on 23 April at
Fair Shot Café. Marathon runner Anya
Culling joins journalist and ultra-runner
Lily Carter to discuss the mental
resilience behind long-distance running,
tracing Culling’s journey from casual
jogs in 2018 to elite competition. Guests
can expect insight into training rituals,
community motivation and race-day
preparation, alongside curated goodie
bags from brands across The Yards.
Throughout the week, runners
showing a race bib or medal can unlock
exclusive offers across participating
retailers, restaurants and wellness
spaces. From post-race refreshments
and celebratory drinks to recovery
treatments and retail discounts, the
initiative encourages visitors to refuel,
recover and celebrate in style.
Adding to the experience, The Yards
has also created a bespoke illustrated 5K
running route highlighting nearby
landmarks including The Mall, Big Ben,
Green Park, St James’s Park and
Embankment.
With community at its core, Run The
Yards captures the energy of marathon
season while inviting runners and
supporters to experience Covent Garden
at their own pace. Whether chasing
personal bests or cheering from the
sidelines, visitors can discover a base to
connect, recharge and celebrate
achievements, reinforcing The Yards as
a destination for runners this season.
