SALON PRIVE TAKES OVER SLOANE
STREET
Knightsbridge & Chelsea’s famous
Sloane Street is set to come alive with a
celebration of automotive excellence and
craftsmanship this April thanks to a
collaboration with Salon Privé.
The UK’s leading automotive event is
bringing a tantalising curated showcase
of classics, hypercars and supercars to
the famous shopping district for a oneday event, that will whet the appetite of
those planning to attend Salon Privé
London at the Royal Hospital Chelsea,
16-18 April. The Salon Privé Sloane
Street Concours will take place just days
before, on Saturday 11 April, where the
iconic Sloane Street will become the
backdrop for an outdoor exhibition of
carefully selected supercars and
hypercars twinned alongside their
significant classics.
Partnering with several luxury
retailers and British OEMs, the cars set
to be on view include models from
Ferrari, McLaren, Rolls Royce, Lotus,
Jaguar, and more. The curated collection
will be framed by world-class flagship
boutiques including Hermès and Bottega
Veneta, with the Jumeirah Carlton Tower
providing an exquisite backdrop.
Themed around ‘Old vs New’, the
Salon Privé Sloane Street Concours will
see classic automotive icons displayed
alongside their modern counterparts,
offering a simple but striking way to
explore how automotive design has
evolved over time. Highlights will
include Nichols Cars presenting the
impressive N1A – from Steve Nichols,
who is best known for designing
arguably the most successful Grand Prix
car of all time: the 1988 McLaren-Honda
MP4/4. Automotive Artisans will show
the R33 – a modern homage to the 1968
Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale, while
Halcyon Cars will present their
Electrified Rolls Royce Corniche
Convertible, reimagining a British luxury
classic for the modern era. Encor Design
will present the Series 1 alongside the
iconic Lotus Esprit S1 and Ferrari fans
will be able to soak up Joe Macari’s fivestrong display which will include a 250
California Spider, GMA Le Mans GTR
and GMA T50.
Aston Martin, Ferrari and McLaren
will also be represented within the wider
display as part of Stratstone’s CLUB HLS
presence, bringing together an
exceptional mix of heritage and
contemporary performance on one of
London’s most prestigious streets. A
specially selected 1961 Jaguar E-Type
3.8 Flat Floor Roadster, presented by DD
Classics, will take pride of place at the
Jumeirah Carlton Tower’s main entrance
to mark the hotel's anniversary year.
Andrew Bagley, Chairman and cofounder of Salon Privé, said: ‘Several of
the exclusively curated cars presented
are typically only seen within private
collections or Concours settings, which
makes this one-day event a rare
opportunity for the public to encounter
some astonishing cars in a relaxed and
unexpectedly intimate setting. The 25
automotives on display will be judged
by a group of experts handpicked by
Salon Privé. Our aim is to offer a
unique and contemporary twist to
Concours, making this automotive
tradition accessible to many visitors for
the first time.’
Free to attend and running 11.00 –
17.00 on Saturday 11 April only, Salon
Privé and Sloane Street are inviting
visitors to spend their Saturday
exploring the Concours at their own
pace while enjoying the wider experience
of the iconic street, long-recognised as
one of London’s most elegant shopping
and dining destinations and the luxury
cornerstone of Chelsea.
The event will also celebrate the
recent transformation of Sloane Street,
which has undergone its most
significant streetscape improvements in
250 years, since it was first
commissioned by the 1st Earl of
Cadogan. Delivered in partnership with
Kensington and Chelsea Council, the
project has created a 1km long ‘green
boulevard’.
