INTO THE WOODS
London Theatre Company’s new
production photos of Into The Woods,
directed by Jordan Fein with set and
costume design by Tom Scutt, is now
playing the Bridge Theatre until Saturday
30 May.
Why would you go into the woods?
To sell the cow
To visit mother
To see the king
To lift the spell
In Stephen Sondheim and James
Lapine’s dazzling musical, the Baker, the
Baker’s Wife, the Witch, Jack, Little Red
Ridinghood, Cinderella and Rapunzel
take us beyond happy ever after to
discover what really matters.
Sondheim and Lapine’s second
collaboration after Sunday in the Park
with George brilliantly weaves together
four Grimms’ fairy-tales. On its
Broadway debut in 1986, Into The
Woods won Tony awards each for
Sondheim (Best Original Score) and
Lapine (Best Book). In London, it has
had productions by Richard Jones
(Phoenix Theatre, 1990), John Crowley
(Donmar, 1998) and Timothy Sheader
(Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, 2010).
This will be its first major London
production since 2016.
Into The Woods is produced by
London Theatre Company and presented
in association with Jamie Wilson
Productions.

KINKY BOOTS THE MUSICAL
RETURNS TO THE WEST END
Kinky Boots The Musical is stepping
into the London Coliseum in a brandnew West End production, starring
Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes
Radebe as Lola and 2010 X Factor
Winner Matt Cardle as Charlie Price,
from 17 March through to 11 July.
With its infectious score by Cyndi
Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein,
this is the joyful, high-energy musical
about friendship, acceptance and having
the courage to stand proudly in who you
are (preferably in six-inch heels).
Based on the true story behind the hit
film, Kinky Boots has become a global
crowd-pleaser thanks to its big heart,
killer songs and a finale that practically
guarantees a standing ovation. It’s bold,
funny, emotional – and exactly the kind
of night out audiences are craving.
When Charlie Price inherits his
family’s failing shoe factory, saving the
company – and his love life – feels like
an impossibly tall order. Until, that is, he
meets Lola, the sparkling, larger-thanlife drag queen with the unlikeliest of
answers. Can they work together to
reboot the business and save the day?
