CATS AT THE OPEN AIR THEATRE
From Euston station to Victoria
Grove, the strays and rebels of London
gather under the Jellicle moon in the
hope they’ll be the chosen one. And
each of them asks, because each of them
dares, who will it be?
With a legendary score featuring Old
Deuteronomy, Macavity: The Mystery Cat,
The Jellicle Ball and the chart-topping hit
Memory, a brand-new production of Cats,
directed and choreographed by Regent’s
Park Open Air Theatre Artistic Director
Drew McOnie, is sure to be one of the
theatrical events of 2026. Based on Old
Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by
T.S. Eliot, Cats is loved for its magical,
family-friendly world, where humans act
like cats. It will run from 25 July to
12 September before embarking on an
(indoor!) touring schedule around the UK.
Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has
composed the scores of some of the
world’s most famous musicals. His
shows have run continuously in
London’s West End for 50 years and ran
for 43 uninterrupted years on Broadway.
When the original Sunset Boulevard
joined School of Rock, CATS, and The
Phantom of the Opera he equalled
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s record of four
shows running simultaneously on
Broadway. Lloyd Webber has composed
music for globally significant moments.
Most recently, he was asked to compose
‘Make a Joyful Noise’, the anthem for the
Coronation of King Charles III.
Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is a
magical setting for a wide range of
drama. Accessed on foot past the
famous rose gardens, its proximity to
trees and sky make every show a special
summer experience (although, apart
from days of heatwave, you need warm
clothes in the evenings).
The theatre grounds are extensive and
much used for early dinners. Food and
drink plays a significant role in the Open
Air Theatre experience, with its in-house
bars and restaurants.

SUMMER APEROL TERRACE
Six by Nico Canary Wharf has
unveiled its new summer terrace, giving
Londoners a new excuse for alfresco
drinking, with £5 Aperol Spritz available.
Located in the heart of Canary Wharf,
the terrace is the perfect spot for postwork drinks, summer catch-ups and
long evenings outdoors, combining an
extensive cocktail menu with a relaxed
summer atmosphere.
The Amalfi terrace has launched
alongside Six by Nico’s latest 6-week
tasting menu: Amalfi Coast, which has
inspired the Italian cocktails on the
menu. The £5 Aperol Spritz takes centre
stage, offering guests the chance to
enjoy one of summer’s iconic serves at
an accessible price point. Alongside the
signature spritz, the cocktail menu
features a lineup of seasonal creations,
including the Strawberry Basil Negroni,
Blood Orange Espresso Martini, Lemon
Verbena Hugo, and the Sgroppino, a
refreshing mix of lemon sorbet, vodka,
limoncello, and olive oil.

STYLE EXHIBITION EXTENDED
The landmark centenary exhibition
Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style at
The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace
is to be extended by six months due to
popular demand, allowing hundreds of
thousands more visitors to enjoy the
largest exhibition of the late Queen’s
fashion ever staged. Originally
scheduled to close on 18 October, the
exhibition will now run until 18 April
next year. The exhibition – which will be
the most visited exhibition in Royal
Collection Trust’s history – sold out
within weeks of opening. The extension
offers a renewed opportunity for
audiences to experience this acclaimed
show, which traces the evolution of the
late Queen’s world-famous style through
more than 300 items drawn from her
personal fashion archive, now part of the
Royal Collection. Due to ongoing high
demand, visitors are encouraged to book
tickets well in advance. For those unable
to visit in person, the official centenary
publication Queen Elizabeth II: Fashion
and Style offers an unparalleled look
inside the late Queen’s fashion archive
and is complemented by a programme
of live online lectures and in-depth
films.
