THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG
A new cast took to the stage in
Mischief’s Olivier and Tony Awardwinning play last month. Joining the
mayhem are: Ruby Ablett, Matthew
Spencer, Raphael Bushay, Luke Wilson,
Lucinda Turner, Alex Bird, Joshua
Lendon and Kieron Michael. Winston the
dog returns to play Winston the dog –
(if Winston is found).
The Cornley Drama Society have
announced that they intend to keep
performing the show until they get it
100% right. In light of this, the
producers have extended booking until
'at least' October 2027, with some
confidence. Cornley have yet to notice.
The Play That Goes Wrong opened at
London’s Duchess Theatre in September
2014 and the production shows no
signs of slowing down since its first
performance at The Old Red Lion
Theatre playing to only four paying
customers. The show’s success is a
testament to the hard work and
determination of a group of drama
school graduates who became friends,
set up a company under the name
‘Mischief’ and created an extraordinary
body of work over the past decade.
Mischief shows can currently be
watched all over the globe. Following its
West End premiere Peter Pan Goes
Wrong was nominated for Best New
Comedy at the Olivier Awards, and in
2022 made its North American premiere
in Canada at the Citadel Theatre,
Edmonton. It regularly tours the UK with
limited seasons in the West End. Other
hit stage comedies include The Comedy
About A Bank Robbery, which played in
London for four years, and Groan Ups,
both currently performing across
Europe. Magic Goes Wrong closed in
London in March 2022 after a limited
engagement, continuing to wow critics
and audiences across the UK until the
tour ended in May 2022. Returning to
their comedy roots, Mischief took three
shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe
in 2022, Mischief Movie Night and two
new shows, Mind Mangler: Member of
the Tragic Circle and Charlie Russell
Aims To Please. The Comedy About
Spies, a new uproarious spy escapade,
opened in London’s West End in May
2025, and returns to the West End this
Summer following an Olivier nomination
for Best New Comedy or Entertainment
Play. Mischief’s first musical comedy,
Thespians, is currently on a UK tour.

SIRENS: THE CONCERT SERIES
Five women. Twenty songs. One
unforgettable evening. Sirens: The
Concert Series arrives at The Emerald
Theatre this summer, blending the
spectacle of musical theatre with the
energy of a headline concert to celebrate
the voices, stories and resilience of
women. It features music from artists
including Madonna, Billie Eilish,
Prince, Lady Gaga, Guns N' Roses
and Alanis Morissette.
Sirens reimagines some of popular
music's iconic anthems through original
arrangements performed by five
powerhouse vocalists. Themes of
empowerment, heartbreak, joy and
perseverance run throughout a
production designed to leave audiences
both entertained and inspired.
Directed by Tara Overfield-Wilkinson
and staged and choreographed by Dollie
Henry MBE, the production draws
inspiration from the Sirens of Greek
mythology, reimagining them as
modern-day rock and pop divas.
Created by book writer and lead
producer Tegan Summer, the show
combines world-class vocals with
timeless songs to deliver an uplifting
theatrical experience and what promises
to be the ultimate night out.
The Emerald Theatre is a modern
entertainment venue on Victoria
Embankment. Opened in 2025, it blends
Art Deco-inspired design with immersive
theatre, live music, cabaret, and nightlife
experiences.
