MASSED BANDS OF HM ROYAL MARINES BEATING RETREAT
The spectacular Massed Bands of HM Royal Marines
Beating Retreat will return to London this summer. Taking
place on 16 and 17 July at the iconic Horse Guards Parade,
it promises two unforgettable evenings of military music,
precision and ceremonial pageantry.
This much-loved event will once
again showcase the very best of Royal
Marines tradition in one of the capital’s
most historic settings. Set against the
stunning backdrop of St James's Park,
more than 200 of the world’s finest
military musicians will come together for
a stirring and visually impressive
performance. Audiences can look
forward to a dynamic programme
featuring the renowned Massed Bands
of HM Royal Marines, alongside the
impeccable precision drill of the
40-strong Corps of Drums and a Royal
Navy Guard of Honour.
The evening will build to the
emotionally powerful Naval Sunset
ceremony – an evocative tradition
steeped in heritage that provides a fitting
and memorable finale to the
performance. Combining music,
discipline and history, Beating Retreat
remains a highlight of the summer
events calendar and a unique
opportunity to experience the excellence
of the Royal Marines up close.
Beyond the spectacle, the event plays
a vital role in supporting the Naval
community. All proceeds will go towards
the work of the Royal Navy & Royal
Marines Charity and RMA – The Royal
Marines Charity, helping to provide
essential support to serving personnel,
veterans and their families.
Performances will take place at 18:30
on both evenings. Tickets are priced
between £17 and £45, with a range of
seating and accessible options available,
including wheelchair spaces with a
companion included. Group bookings
also benefit from discounted rates,
making it an ideal event to enjoy with
friends, family or colleagues.
Horse Guards Parade is exceptionally
well connected by public transport.
Charing Cross, Westminster and
Embankment stations are all within
walking distance, providing access to
Underground and National Rail services.
Numerous bus routes serve the
surrounding area, while nearby cycle
hire stations and pedestrian-friendly
streets ensure convenient access from
across London.
