Welcome to London
Welcome to London – a city where storytelling pulses through its streets
and where, night after night, the curtain rises on what I truly believe is the
greatest theatre in the world.
Having had the privilege of living and breathing the West End across my
career, it remains a constant source of inspiration. Few places match its
scale, history, or its appetite for bold reinvention.
From groundbreaking new plays and beloved musical spectaculars to
world-class opera at the Royal Opera House, London’s stages offer an
unrivalled spectrum of work. There is a particular electricity in the West End
– an understanding between artist and audience that something
unforgettable may happen at any moment.
This season sees the arrival of Tony nominee Kip Williams’ gripping
adaptation of Dracula, with the extraordinary Cynthia Erivo returning to the
West End stage for the first time in almost a decade. First brought to life in
Australia by the Sydney Theatre Company, this bold reimagining – shaped
by a remarkable team of Australian artists – now finds its place on the
Noël Coward Theatre stage. Alongside Michael Cassel and our fellow
co-producers, I am immensely proud to help bring this work to the
West End. Dracula reflects the ambition, imagination and creative
fearlessness that define theatre here at home.
London has always been a meeting point for global talent. To welcome
exceptional international artists while celebrating the return of one of our
own is a rare and special moment. Cynthia Erivo’s journey from London
theatre to international acclaim makes this return especially poignant.
Whether you are here for a weekend or a longer stay, I encourage you to
embrace the magic. In London, theatre is not simply part of the city –
it is its very heartbeat. We look forward to welcoming you.
Adam Kenwright, Producer
