PERFORM SWAN LAKE
Following this summer’s celebrations
of 100 years of their Founding Director
Laureate and one of ballet’s most
influential directors and choreographers,
Sir Peter Wright, this autumn,
Birmingham Royal Ballet will revive his
beloved and spectacular production of
Swan Lake.
One of the Company’s most popular
productions in its repertoire, Swan Lake
will play at Birmingham Hippodrome
from 23 September to 3 October. The
production will then transfer to London’s
Sadler’s Wells Theatre from 28 to
31 October.
Birmingham Royal Ballet Director,
Carlos Acosta said: ‘In this year where
we celebrate 100 years of the
magnificent contributions of our
Founding Director Laureate, Sir Peter
Wright, we couldn’t not bring his
cherished and spectacular production of
Swan Lake back to the stage. Not only
one of the world’s favourite ballets, this
specific production has been beloved for
decades and over generations –
bringing many to ballet for the very first
time. We look forward to being back on
the stage in Birmingham and London
this autumn with this unmissable show.’

NEW YORK JETS TOUCHDOWN
TAILGATE
The New York Jets will kick off the
2026 NFL season with the return of the
Touchdown Tailgate, a free to attend
immersive fan watch party, taking place
at Flat Iron Square in London on
13 September.
Designed to bring Jets fans together
and welcome new fans to American
football, visitors will be able to watch the
Jets opening game of the season against
the Tennessee Titans alongside former
Jets players. Fans of all teams will also
be welcomed to watch Sunday’s full slate
of the NFL’s week one games with a
range of interactive experiences
celebrating the team and bringing
together the London NFL community.
BETWEEN THE LINES AT THE
LONDON TRANSPORT MUSEUM
London Transport Museum is
celebrating the enduring spirit of
grassroots football with Between the
Lines, a new temporary exhibition
exploring the fascinating history of the
London Underground Football League.
Marking its 30th anniversary this
year, the League has evolved from
modest beginnings in 1996 into a fully
governed competition, complete with
FA-certified officials. Today, 12 teams
bring together TfL employees from
across London’s transport network,
including representatives from the Tube,
Overground, Elizabeth line and British
Transport Police.
At the heart of the exhibition are the
people who have shaped the League
over three decades. Player profiles,
photographs, trophies, football kits and
personal possessions offer an intimate
insight into the lives of the employees,
apprentices and veterans behind the
teams. Visitors can also step inside a
recreated football changing room,
bringing the atmosphere of match day to
life. A specially commissioned
documentary follows Jubilee line FC
through a pivotal season, after the team
secured promotion as unbeaten Division
Two champions. The film captures the
challenges of competing at a higher
level while balancing demanding
careers, personal commitments and
health challenges.
