FLAMENC OH! RETURNS TO THE
PEACOCK THEATRE
The company behind acclaimed
comedy musical The Opera Locos will
return to the Peacock Theatre, Sadler's
Wells' home in the West End, this
autumn with their latest show combining
world-class flamenco dancing and live
music with comedy and physical theatre
from 30 September to 10 October.
The production, co-commissioned by
Spanish dance theatre company Yllana
and Sadler’s Wells, is a comedic show
about love, passion and revenge that
follows a family of flamenco artists while
they’re on tour.
Their family is helmed by a fiercely
traditional patriarch whose world
unravels when his children begin to
challenge the old rules and, in order to
attract new audiences, experiment by
fusing flamenco with other modern
music and dance styles. However, as
audiences will discover, beneath their
father’s determined defence of tradition
he hides a deep secret.
The show lovingly sends up the
flamenco tradition and includes a unique
blend of many dance styles and musical
genres, featuring live music and singing
across traditional flamenco, rock, pop,
hip-hop, and country.

AT ST GEORGE’S HANOVER SQUARE
The new Autumn Season at
St George's, Hanover Square, W1 kicks
off with a riotous evening of music, wit
and scandal in the company of Handel
himself on Thursday 24 September.
It is 1733, and Gustavus Waltz,
Handel’s cook and an ambitious young
bass, has become increasingly
disgruntled with his overworked and
self-absorbed employer. Seeking
revenge, Waltz takes it upon himself to
organise a mischievous dinner party at
Handel’s house on Brook Street.
The guest list has been carefully
chosen to antagonise the great
composer. Among those invited are the
widowed Mary Pendarves, Handel’s
closest friend, together with two people
with whom he has not been getting on
particularly well: rival composer Johann

brings this ethos to life at a large-scale
offsite venue.
3 Evenings is a playful reimagining of
9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering, a
groundbreaking series in New York in
1966, widely regarded historically as the
first large-scale collaboration between
artists, engineers and scientists.
