NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
WEEKEND AT ALLIANZ STADIUM
The Nations Championship Finals
Weekend will see 12 of the world’s
leading rugby nations compete for
international supremacy, as teams from
the Northern and Southern Hemispheres
battle to claim rugby’s newest titles and
silverware. England, Scotland, Wales,
Ireland, France and Italy will represent
the Northern Hemisphere, taking on
Southern Hemisphere rivals South
Africa, New Zealand, Australia,
Argentina, Fiji and Japan.
Bringing together the traditional July
and November international rugby
windows into one cohesive tournament,
the Nations Championship introduces a
new level of competition, with every
fixture contributing towards the overall
standings. The tournament will determine
both the leading nation in international
rugby and the dominant hemisphere.
Each participating country will
compete for the prestigious Nations
Championship Trophy, awarded to the
overall winner following the Grand Final.
Meanwhile, every result during Finals
Weekend at Allianz Stadium will also
contribute towards the Hemisphere
Shield, contested between the Northern
and Southern Hemispheres. The
Hemisphere Shield will be decided
across six North versus South
encounters, with seven points available
throughout the weekend. One point will
be awarded to the winner of each match
between the second to sixth ranked
teams, while the top-ranked nations will
compete for two points. The first
hemisphere to secure four points will
claim the Shield.
Taking place at Allianz Stadium from
Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November, the
Finals Weekend promises three days of
world-class international rugby, bringing
together some of the sport’s biggest
names for a thrilling conclusion to the
tournament.
