SAM FENDER’S PROPER MASSIVE
STADIUM TOUR 2027
Sam Fender is set for a huge Summer
in 2027 and has shared details for a
packed UK stadium tour. The tour will
call at six cities, including Sam’s biggest
headline shows to date at London’s
Wembley Stadium on 18 and 20 June.
Fender released his number one
selling, critically acclaimed third album
People Watching in 2025 via Polydor
Records. The album won the 2025
Mercury Prize, with Sam also picking
up a BRIT Award in 2025 and an Ivor
Award for Songwriter of the Year, since
its release.
He debuted People Watching’s 'Rein
Me In' alongside Olivia Dean at his
London Stadium Show to over 80,000
fans in June 2025, before it was released
as a duet later that month. In 2026, the
song took on a life of its own,
culminating in a record breaking
23 non-consecutive weeks at number
one, becoming the longest running
number one single in British history.
MONTEVERDI CHOIR PERFORM
HANDEL’S THEODORA
The Monteverdi Choir and English
Baroque Soloists continue their
collaboration with Christophe Rousset
for Handel’s Theodora in Oxford and
London on 18 and 19 November,
bringing an eight-city tour across South
America and Europe to a close.
With staging by Thomas Guthrie, the
international cast is led by Marie Lys as
Theodora, Alice Coote as Irene and
Iestyn Davies as Didymus, with Guy
Cutting as Septimius and John Chest as
Valens.
Written in 1749, Theodora tells of a
Christian woman and the Roman soldier
Didymus, whose devotion defies
imperial authority. Handel transforms
their story of faith, love and resistance to
state power into a work of exceptional
psychological and theatrical intensity,
combining luminous arias with some of
his most powerful and dramatically
charged choral writing.

For Theodora, Thomas Guthrie draws
the theatre directly from Handel’s score,
using the immediacy of concert
performance to bring the drama into
sharper focus. Recitative is treated as
dramatic prose, gesture and movement
illuminate the characters’ choices, and
the choir drives the action as both the
persecuted Christians and the Roman
populace.
Guthrie returns following his work on
Tavener’s Veil of the Temple and
Rossini’s Ermione last year, and his
highly acclaimed 2019 concert staging
of Handel’s Semele, which toured major
European venues.
