JOHN BUTLER – PRISM
With his new album, PRISM, John
Butler delivers a powerful return to form
– a bold, deeply personal solo album
that reclaims his roots while stretching
his sonic boundaries. Known as one of
Australia’s most influential independent
artists, Butler has long defied convention
with his genre-bending guitar mastery
and lyrical honesty. PRISM, the third
instalment in his ‘Four Seasons’ project,
blends soulful ballads, protest anthems,
and groove-laden rock, all co-produced
with James Ireland (POND, San Cisco).
Performed entirely solo, the album
explores love, loss, politics, and
personal transformation. Tracks like
‘Trippin On You’ and ‘King of California’
show his vulnerability, while ‘Outta My
Head’ and ‘Going Solo’ reaffirm his
explosive musicality.
Fans can experience this new chapter
live at Butler’s upcoming London
performance on 1 November at Troxy –
a rare solo appearance that promises to
showcase PRISM in all its raw,
emotional, and electrifying glory.
Whether confronting political chaos,
personal grief, or the complexities of
long-term love, Butler channels it all
into PRISM, a cathartic, unfiltered
exploration of what it means to be
human.
This is John Butler at his most
fearless, and PRISM is his richest, most
resonant work yet.
