The site also features two distinct
dining destinations developed by
Executive Chef Pip Lacey, known for her
work at Hicce and the Michelin-starred
Murano. Gilroy’s Loft, a rooftop
restaurant named in honour of iconic
Guinness advertising artist John Gilroy,
showcases the best of British seafood
with dishes that celebrate the
longstanding pairing of Guinness and
oysters. The stylish setting adds a new
dimension to enjoying classic flavours.
The Porter’s Table offers a more
communal culinary experience built
around sharing plates that highlight
seasonal produce, whole-animal
butchery and the deep-rooted tradition
of gathering for good food and a pint. At
the centre of the development, Old
Brewer’s Yard provides an atmospheric
courtyard bar serving handmade pies
crafted by Signature Chef Calum
Franklin alongside exclusive breweryfresh beers.
The opening marks a major new
chapter for Guinness, blending heritage
with innovation in one of London’s most
historic neighbourhoods.

GUINNESS OPEN GATE BREWERY
Guinness is set to open the Guinness
Open Gate Brewery London this month,
introducing a landmark destination in
the heart of Covent Garden. The new site
brings together experimental brewing,
culinary innovation and immersive
storytelling, marking an important
evolution in the brand’s long history of
craftsmanship. The launch also
strengthens Guinness’s presence in the
UK capital, offering visitors a fresh way
to connect with its heritage.
At the core of the venue is its stateof-the-art microbrewery, led by Master
Brewer Hollie Stephenson, previously of
the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in
Baltimore. The London brewery will
produce a dynamic rotation of smallbatch and seasonal beers, including
non-stout varieties and low-alcohol
options, alongside the brand’s
established range of Lager, IPA, Pale Ale
and Porter. Within the Brewer’s Room,
guests will experience curated tastings
of these exclusive releases, reflecting the
spirit of creativity that has shaped
Guinness brewing for more than two
centuries.
HAWAI’I: A KINGDOM CROSSING
OCEANS
A bold new exhibition at the British
Museum examines the compelling
history of Hawai’i and its long-standing
ties with the United Kingdom. Hawai’i: a
kingdom crossing oceans is a dazzling
celebration of the rich artistry of
Hawaiian makers, past present and
future, the global journeys of Hawaiian
royals and leaders, and the enduring
resonance of their story in today's world.
The exhibition commemorates 200
years since a series of events including
the visit of Hawaiian King Liholiho
(Kamehameha II) and Queen Kamāmalu
to London with a royal delegation to
seek alliance and protection from the
Crown. This journey to the capital
included a visit to the British Museum –
the first record of Native Hawaiian ali’i
(chiefs and royals) at the Museum.
Building from this moment, which
marked a turning point in the shared
history of the kingdoms of Hawai’i and
the United Kingdom, the exhibition tells
a compelling story of movement,
allyship and cultural exchange.
