SKATE LEICESTER SQUARE
Skate Leicester Square, the first-ever
outdoor ice rink in Leicester Square, will
be open this Christmas season until
4 January. The rink promises to bring a
unique and festive winter experience to
the heart of London’s West End.
For the past nine years, Underbelly
has been instrumental in producing the
celebrated Christmas events in Leicester
Square, transforming the iconic location
into a festive destination for both
Londoners and visitors. This year, the
ice rink encircles the famous
Shakespeare statue in Leicester Square,
which will serve as a captivating
centrepiece. Complementing the rink will
be a Christmas pop-up market offering a
range of winter food and drink options
alongside seasonal gifting opportunities.
Skate Leicester Square will feature
skating sessions starting every fifteen
minutes, providing flexible access to the
rink for visitors of all ages and skill
levels. Sessions will be available for
both online booking and walk-in guests,
ensuring ease of participation
throughout the event’s duration.
The event also partners with the
Angel Child Fund at The Brain Tumour
Charity, a fund established in memory of
Alfie Bartlam, son of Underbelly cofounder Ed Bartlam. The fund supports
pioneering research into paediatric brain
tumours and has already raised
substantial funds for this vital cause.
