NEW CAST FOR THE HUNGER
GAMES: ON STAGE
The first-ever stage adaptation of
Suzanne Collins’ internationally acclaimed
book ‘The Hunger Games’ and Lionsgate’s
hit motion picture of the same name have
a new cast from Friday 23 October, as the
show enters its second year at Troubadour
Canary Wharf Theatre.
The Hunger Games: On Stage will be
led by Elizabeth Anderson as Katniss
Everdeen with Vinnie Copeland as Peeta
Mellark, Nathan Stokes as Gale
Hawthorne, Daisy Statham as Prim, Alix
Dunmore as Mrs. Everdeen, Isabel DellaPorta as Effie Trinket and Theo Ogundipe
as Cinna.
British television and stage actors Neil
McDermott and Daniel Brocklebank will
play Haymitch Abernathy and Caesar
Flickerman respectively. Hollywood
legend John Malkovich continues in his
role as President Snow on screen.
Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, the
1,200-seat purpose-built, dynamic
theatre-in-the-round venue designed
specifically to host this production, is
situated right in the heart of London’s
vibrant Canary Wharf. Conor McPherson
has adapted the first book from Suzanne
Collins’ epic series and the first film from
Lionsgate’s iconic film franchise for this
live theatrical production. The production
is helmed by renowned director Matthew
Dunster, with a world-class creative team
who bring the show to breathtaking life.
The Hunger Games encompasses five
critically acclaimed novels that have sold
over 100 million copies worldwide and
been translated into 52 languages as well
as a blockbuster film franchise that has
grossed more than $3.4 billion at the
global box office. Lionsgate and Fathom
Entertainment also re-released all five
existing films in The Hunger Games
franchise to cinemas across North
America in early September. Each
screening revealed exclusive first-look
footage from the eagerly anticipated The
Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,
which arrives in cinemas this November.

AT THE VICTORIA PALACE
On 1 November, Elstree Studios and
Denville Hall, two institutions both
celebrating their centenary this year,
each holding extraordinary places in
British entertainment history, will unite
for Raise the Roof! a celebration for
Denville Hall’s Centenary Appeal at
London’s Victoria Palace Theatre.
Hosted by Bradley Walsh, the evening
will bring together performers, stars, and
friends from across film, television,
theatre, and music for a celebration of
the people and stories that have
entertained generations. A night filled
with laughter, music and memories. After
a century of creating and caring, Elstree
Studios and Denville Hall join forces to
celebrate their remarkable shared history
and help secure the future of those who
make entertainment happen.
Denville Hall opened on 19 July 1926
as a ‘haven of rest’ for retired actors and
actresses, but is now open to anyone in
the entertainment professions. It
provides the full range of care in a
vibrant and enriching community which
celebrates those who have dedicated
their careers to a lifetime in the
performing arts, both on and off screen
or stage. They champion creativity at
every stage of life, where residents
remain inspired, valued, and connected.
This year, Elstree Studios is also
celebrating its centenary as one of the
UK’s best-known homes of film and
television production. Elstree has
provided a home for generations of
actors, directors, writers, producers,
technicians and craftspeople, helping
create films and television programmes
that have become part of Britain’s
cultural heritage.
The Victoria Palace Theatre provides
a particularly appropriate setting.
Described by Historic England as
‘London’s last great variety house’. It
opened in 1911 with a variety bill and
was famously home to the Crazy Gang
for 15 years from 1947.
